Beauty From The Inside Out

I don’t feel so attractive these days
I am older
Slower
Weaker
And the wrinkles

Oh… The wrinkles…

I don’t feel so attractive these days
I am not as young as I once was
I don’t wear the same size jeans
I’m not turning anymore heads

I don’t feel so attractive these days
I’m tired
I’m overwhelmed
I’m worried
I’m scared

About tomorrow
About the things I need to do
About the things I have neglected to do
About not being good enough
Pretty enough
Anything enough

When was a time you felt the most beautiful
She was asked

Hmmm… she thought

Years ago
When I was younger
I would run on the beach
Play volleyball with my friends
Hike through the mountains
Ski snowy slopes

Years ago
When I was young
I would walk around the lake
Gaze at the beauty
Breathe in the fresh air

Years ago
When I was young
I would ride my bike to the farmers market
Stare, smell and taste what was on offer
Stop and have tea
Sing in my kitchen
As I excitedly prepared
A beautiful meal

Years ago
When I was young
I didn’t worry so much
I enjoyed the moment
I moved my body more
And I enjoyed how that felt

Years ago
When I was young
I felt stronger
More independent
Free to be me

So is that the beauty you are truly missing
She was asked

The beauty of
BEING
FEELING
MOVING
Having GRATITUDE for the moment

Is that where your beauty REALLY comes from

Hmmm…

When did that stop
She thought

Who cares
Was the answer

Because for today
You can BE
Feel
Move
Again

If you choose to

Be, Feel and Move
Beautifully

It is not what you look like
That others truly respond to

It is how you feel
That emanates to the rest of us
And draws us to the energy
And essence of
YOU

*The pic here is from a day last summer when I felt so beautiful…as sweaty, wet and smelly running a fun obstacle course on a REALLY hot summer day..playing with friends and moving in ways I hadn’t in so long… Thanks so much to a BEAUTIFUL group of women who embody beauty from the inside out!!!
